Introduction to the AP2K waste to energy concept

17 years ago, the idea for a clean air solution was conceived and registered for a global patent, but it opened the door to clean energy.

The initial concept related mainly to the cleaning of existing effluent air or other sources of pollution, so the solution was set up in California to run the gauntlet of SCAQMA (Southern California Air Quality Management authority), which is regarded as the most stringent licensing authority on the planet.

The cost of an installation led to the development of a total solution that pays for itself by consuming waste inputs (the system has a low degree of discrimination) and converting that to energy, whilst removing 98% of impurities from the exhaust gases. That is well within the European targeted emission standards and an exceptional achievement for a waste to energy solution.

Carbon and other particulate that is extracted from the process to render clean air, is either packaged for specific markets or reduced to an inert state to remove the carbon from the system. We do not believe in sequestration and storage.

AP2K is built in 15MWh modular units, which was found to be the most economic and modular configuration for commercialization.

However, we do offer a blended solution configured to the specific needs of each site. Our solution takes a complete Turnkey approach which means we sell a service to clients and retain all asset ownership, upgrades and maintenance for the life of an AP2K unit. The graph below benchmarks our generation costs and emission levels.
